High-School

The final stretch of school should be a launchpad — and our High School is designed to prepare students for life beyond the classroom.

In our High School years, students deepen their academic knowledge, refine their strengths, and begin shaping their future pathways with purpose. With access to a wide range of subject options, leadership opportunities, and personalised guidance, they are empowered to make informed decisions about university and career goals. Our program balances academic excellence with character development, ensuring students graduate as capable, confident, and globally aware individuals.

Our Curriculum

In our High School Program, students take ownership of their learning as they prepare for university and life beyond school.

At Sequoia International School, our High School curriculum is anchored in the internationally recognized IGCSE syllabus, thoughtfully enhanced with in-house learning materials to meet the diverse academic needs and language backgrounds of our student body. The programme is designed to provide a solid academic foundation while fostering well-rounded personal development through a broad and balanced subject offering.

A key strength of our curriculum is its tailored approach to language learning. English is offered as a First Language (FLE) or as English as a Second Language (ESL), with students placed into one of three ability-based groups to ensure targeted instruction. Malay and Mandarin are similarly differentiated, with four proficiency-based groupings. Students can pursue Malay at SPM, PT3, or IGCSE levels, while Mandarin is offered through advanced, intermediate, and beginner streams.

At the high school level, students begin to specialize in subjects aligned with their interests, strengths, and future goals. Building on the foundational science exposure in earlier years, students are well-prepared to pursue Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and other IGCSE subjects with greater depth and confidence. This structured progression supports academic excellence while promoting independent thinking and self-directed learning as students prepare for tertiary education and beyond.

The following subjects are offered in our High-School program:

  • Student-Centered Learning

We place students at the heart of the educational process, designing lessons that prioritize their needs, interests, and active engagement in learning.

  • Inquiry, Creativity, and Participation

Lessons are structured to foster curiosity, encourage creative thinking, and promote active student involvement in classroom activities.

  • Differentiated Instruction

Teaching is tailored to accommodate various learning styles, abilities, and readiness levels, ensuring that all students are supported and challenged appropriately

  • Collaborative Learning

Group activities and peer-to-peer interaction are emphasized to build teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Technology Integration

Digital tools and platforms are embedded into lessons to enhance learning experiences, support individual progress, and prepare students for a tech-driven world.
